The Significance of the Good Shepherd

The Good Shepherd is among the oldest and most beloved images of Christ in Christian art, drawn from the parable in the Gospel of Luke (15:3-7) and the words of Christ in John 10: "I am the good shepherd; the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep."
