This wonderful icon has been created with the technique of lithography and has a double varnish to ensure waterproof and duration in time. The creator of this icon has learned the canonization of iconography in workshops of the Monasteries of Mount Athos, where he was taught both the technique of lithography and the process of handmade artificial ageing.
St. Abigail of Ireland, also known as St. Gobnait, was a 6th-century Irish saint renowned for her devotion to God, healing abilities, and deep connection to nature. Born in County Clare, she fled from family conflict and eventually settled in Ballyvourney, County Cork, where she founded a convent. St. Abigail is especially celebrated for her work as a beekeeper; she used honey and bees for medicinal purposes and as symbols of spiritual protection. Her feast day is February 11, and she remains a beloved patroness of beekeepers and those seeking healing.
