The Significance of Saint Cuthbert

Saint Cuthbert of Lindisfarne (c. 634 – 687) was a monk, bishop, and hermit who lived in Northumbria, England during the 7th century. He was known for his piety, humility, and miracles, and played an important role in establishing Christianity in the North of England. He withdrew from public life and became a hermit on the island of Inner Farne, where he died in 687. Saint Cuthbert is considered one of the most important saints of the early Anglo-Saxon church.
