Born in Caesarea, Cappadocia, she was known for her piety and dedication to Christ. During the persecution of Christians under Emperor Diocletian, Dorothea was arrested and faced severe torture. According to legend, she miraculously sent heavenly roses and apples to Theophilus, a skeptic who mocked her faith, just before her execution. St. Dorothea is venerated as the patron saint of gardeners and florists, with her feast day celebrated on February 6, symbolizing purity, courage, and divine grace.
