This finely crafted Orthodox icon of St. Eumenius Saridakis is made using the traditional lithography technique, with a double varnish layer for water resistance and long-lasting durability. Handmade artificial aging gives it a timeless, antique character, reflecting the beauty and depth of Byzantine iconography. The artisan behind this icon trained in the Monasteries of Mount Athos, ensuring authenticity and the highest level of craftsmanship in Orthodox Christian art.
St. Eumenius Saridakis (born 1896, reposed 1999) was a revered elder and wonderworker from Crete. A humble and holy monk, he became widely known for his ascetic life, profound spiritual wisdom, and countless miracles. Living in prayer, fasting, and humility, St. Eumenius healed the sick, consoled the suffering, and offered prophetic counsel to many. His deep devotion to Christ and the Theotokos inspired all who sought his intercession. He was glorified as a saint for his sanctity and miracles, and his feast day is celebrated on September 18th.
In Orthodox iconography, St. Eumenius Saridakis is often depicted as a serene, bearded elder, symbolizing his wisdom, purity, and ascetic life. His image serves as a reminder of the transformative power of faith, prayer, and service to God.
