St. John the Russian (1690–1730) is one of the most beloved saints of the Orthodox Church, known for his humility, faith, and miracles. A devout Christian soldier, he was captured during the Russo-Turkish War and taken to Asia Minor as a slave. Despite his captivity, he remained steadfast in his faith, refusing to renounce Christianity even under intense pressure. He lived a life of prayer and service, performing many acts of kindness and charity. After his death, his body was found incorrupt, and countless miracles have been attributed to his intercession. His feast day is celebrated on May 27th.
