This wonderful icon has been created with the technique of lithography and has a double varnish to ensure waterproof and duration in time. The creator of this icon has learned the canonization of iconography in workshops of the Monasteries of Mount Athos, where he was taught both the technique of lithography and the process of handmade artificial ageing.

Saint Tryphon came from Lampsacus of Phrygia and lived in the years of the emperors Gordian (238-244), Philip (244-249) and Decius (249-251). He came from a poor family and in his childhood, he grazed geese to make a living. At the same time, however, he diligently studied the Bible and performed his religious duties with reverence. Thus, little by little, Tryphon, with his pious learning, succeeded not only in teaching himself, but also in teaching the eternal truths of his faith. Soon his pious soul received the grace of the Holy Spirit and God required Tryphon to work miracles.
