Byzantine style icon featuring the Virgin Mary Glykophilousa (= Sweet Kissing), crafted from 925 sterling silver with local 24-karat gold plating. The background of the icon is treated with a matte hammered look, while the inner subject has a glossy finish. The letters, as well as various elements on the garment and the halo, are decorated with enamel designs in a burgundy shade. The wood of the icon is cut in an elaborate modern design.
The metal of the icon has undergone a special treatment to remain non-tarnishing. It can be hung on the wall or placed on a table with its base.
