The Significance of Virgin Mary Panagia Vladimir
The Virgin Mary is the Theotokos, the mother of Jesus Christ, the Son and Word of God. She conceived by the power of the Holy Spirit. She was cared for by her betrothed husband, Joseph, who took the child and his mother into his home as his own. One very strong tradition in the Orthodox Church holds that the birth of Jesus was also miraculous and left Mary's virginity intact as a sign; it is also the tradition of the Church that Joseph and Mary did not have relations after the birth of Jesus. She is also called Panagia, the "All-Holy," indicating her closeness to God in her obedience.
The title Theotokos (in Greek, Θεοτόκος) is a Greek word that means "God-bearer" or "Birth-giver to God.

I ordered an icon on a wood panel. I was expecting something printed on the wood itself but it was a sheet of paper glued to the wood panel. The print was nice but it wasn't what I was expecting. The description on the website wasn't very clear, other websites state that their product is a print on paper glued to a wooden board, which is why I hadn't ordered it for them. I returned the item and got a refund, even if I had to pay both postage (it was stated in the Ts&Cs) and the import duties (not sure why, as it was a return of an item of low value).
Extremely happy with my purchase of two handmade Orthodox icons, which arrived in perfect order from Greece. The customer service provided by the team at TheHolyArt was exceptional! When I requested an update on the shipping, the information was provided promptly. The professionalism displayed TheHolyArt throughout this transaction was first-rate and I highly recommend this shop.
