St. Kosmas Aitolos, the Equal-to-the-Apostles and New Hieromartyr, illuminated 18th-century Greece with his extraordinary missionary work and prophetic gifts. Born in 1714 in Aitolia, this devoted monk from Philotheou Monastery embarked on a 25-year journey across Greece and Albania, establishing over 200 schools and countless churches during a time of Ottoman occupation. With the Patriarchal blessing, he traveled tirelessly by foot, donkey, and ship, bringing the light of Orthodox Christianity to remote villages and baptizing countless souls.
