According to tradition, her martyrdom inspired many conversions, and miraculous events followed her death. St. Euphemia played a pivotal role in affirming Orthodox doctrine at the Fourth Ecumenical Council in Chalcedon (451 AD) when her relics confirmed the truth of the Orthodox faith. Her feast days are celebrated on July 11th (the Miracle of Chalcedon) and September 16th (her martyrdom).
